The Problem
Youth voter registration (ages 18 - 29) is down in 34 states for the 2024 election.
The Solution:
Creators and influencers can change this - but we need your help now.
Why This Matters:
Voting is not just a right; it’s a powerful way for young people to voice their perspectives and influence change.
However, many young individuals are unsure of how to register or create a voting plan.
As creators, we have the ability to inspire, educate, and engage our audiences.
Our Goals:
Get as many new young voters across the country to register, especially in the following states:
Arizona and Georgia before the October 7th deadline
North Carolina before the October 11th deadline
Wisconsin before the October 16th deadline
Michigan and Pennsylvania before the October 21st deadline
How can creators help?
Influencers can help young people become voters by creating inspiring and fun educational content that includes four types of non-partisan content over the next four weeks:
Content 1
Create a “how to register to vote” post: Share step-by-step instructions on how to register to vote, starting with the www.speakyourvote.com site.
Content 2
Create a #SpeakYourVote story: Share your personal story of why voting is important to you and what issue is most relevant to your life.
Content 3
Create a “What’s on my ballot” story: Share in a matter-of-fact, non-partisan way what is on your local or state ballot starting with this page (click “what’s on my ballot”).
Make sure to:
✔ Include a CTA to www.speakyourvote.com so that your followers know where to register
✔ Collaborate with @SpeakYourVote on Instagram and tag with #SpeakYourVote so we can capture our collective impact as creators
✔ Invite your followers to tag three of their friends to register to vote before these important deadlines. This is one of the most influential ways to motivate folks to vote! Check the voting registration deadline for your state here.
✔ Filters and Stickers: Use the #SpeakYourVote profile filters and stickers for all your posts. Examples here and here
